Winter Forest Socks
Here they are. This is the right side of the socks.
This shows the left side of the socks.
I used Shelridge Farm’s Soft Touch Ultra, the Winter Forest colorway.
Here are the stats on the yarn. 100% wool, (I suspect merino) 3-ply fingering weight, hand-dyed, 175 yds/50 gm. I got the yarn from Ellen, at earth faire.
They came out fraternal, most likely because of the yarn being hand-dyed. But I like the way they look and will definitely make more socks with this yarn in other colors. The yarn is wonderfully soft and silky.
The socks took 2 skeins, at $8.20 each, and I used “Basketweave Ribbing Pattern” on the cuffs, which I got from one of the Barbara Walker Dictionaries.
