Felted Noro Bag
This is the front of the bag with the flap.
Here’s the bag with the flap hidden in back.
This is the back of the bag.
The front and the back of the bag are both squares made of mitered triangles. I knit one triangle, and then added on, one triangle at a time, until four of them formed a square. Then I picked up around 3 sides for the gusset, added a bunch of stitches for a shoulder strap, (120 sts – I think). Then I sewed the second square to the front of the side gusset to form the bag.
The Noro yarn didn’t felt nearly as much as I expected it to – so this is a really big purse/tote bag. None of the skeins of yarn was the same colorway. I found some of them dirt cheap at the Salvation Army Store – of all places! Others were acquired one at a time at yarn stores, but they were discounted because they were single skeins of discontinued colorways.
I had fun knitting this and watching the colors emerge. It took several weeks, but seemed to take only a few hours. I’m planning to sew a liner with pockets into this, as soon as I find some fabric I like well enough. I’ll add more pictures when I get that done.
